Sturdy and bristly, warthogs have a wide habitat tolerance living in moist and arid savannahs. They are the only pigs who can live for months without water. Their tusks are unusual: the upper set emerge from the snout forming a semi-circle, and the lower set have a sharp cutting edge for efficient foraging. Their tusks can grow up to 1 foot (30 cm) long, unfortunately making them susceptible to poaching.
